How to: Exchanging a Parallel key for a USB key

Background
This article applies to ARMD active users who want to exchange their Parallel key for a USB key.

Given the fact that the Parallel port is becoming obsolete, some new systems ship without one and this can pose a problem for ARMD users who currently have a Parallel key.

Definitions
Active ARMD user

An ARMD active user is a user that has a valid software support and maintenance contract.

ARMD key
An ARMD key (also known as key or Sentinel key) consists of a small device, which connects to your system’s Parallel or USB port. An ARMD Key is required to run any ARMD solver. They may look like the following:

Process
The process consists of exchanging your current Parallel key for a USB key.

If you are an active ARMD user, you can upgrade an Old Parallel key to a USB key at no cost (shipping costs excluded). To do so please call, or send an email to us, expressing your desire to upgrade your key together with your ARMD serial number and contact information.

If you are not an active ARMD user, please contact us and we will get back to you with the appropriate requirements and procedures to upgrade your memory key.
